6 Ways Your Weight Loss Goals Get Gobbled By Hunger (Part 1)

This is ridiculous.

You’re doing all the BBG workouts. You’re cross training.

You even skipped beloved brunch cuz you’re trying diet and forgoing mimosas and pancakes is pure torture.

(Esp if no one else is…)

And, sure, you’ve dropped a few pounds. But you just haven’t acclimated to the pangs of hunger that literally never leave you. You wake with them. You head to bed with them. Their audible intestinal growls undermine whatever you’ve got to say during any kind’ve conversation you try to hold. You know your new low weight’s not here or stay. There’s no getting accustomed to this. It simply isn’t sustainable. But why? What is it that you’re doing wrong to warrant the gastric vacuum your belly’s become? Well, there are many reasons we might feel hunger – on any kind’ve a diet. But when we try to change things up, sometimes are some things we especially miss in the process.

The following six are just some…

1. Not drinking enough water

I put this at the top of the list because it’s so simple that people don’t even bother to do it. What filling features could free, easy, “no one marketed it to me on my Instagram ads” water possibly have? All of them. Aside from the fact that it gives a feeling of fullness, often we think we’re hungry when hydration’s all we want. But, with respect to a diet, there’s another reason you may not be downing enough of the stuff. (Yeah, you know what it is.) We wanna see that scale go down, don’t we? We wanna watch that number get lower. So maybe we avoid it. Have that problem? Then just subtract one pound from whatever’s on the scale after drinking your half liter. Because this is the stuff that’s ultimately gonna help you lose the most fat in the long run.

2. Excess exercise

And, speaking of long runs, that might be another reason you’re ravenous. Compared to weight lifting or a shorter HIIT workout, working out for too long can make you wanna demolish a full pie of Italian cheese triangles in one sitting. Case in point? Last night (after an hour spent on the elliptical earlier that day), I couldn’t figure out why I’d eaten my delivery food, half of my boyfriend’s delivery food, and half my boyfriend’s arm. And I was still hungry after. While number one (lack of water) may have played a part, I can say for sure that I’d worked out a lot longer that day than my body was on board to do. And my somatic meat machine wanted all those calories back ASAP. And then some. Just in case I abused it again tomorrow.

3. Failing to balance macros and have the filling stuff

And when we do restore those calories, it’s important to do it properly. (Alluring though they are, Funions aren’t a food group.) What you may be missing is a balance of your unsaturated fats, carbs, and proteins. Fat and protein are especially good in that they fill and satisfy you. But carbs are excellent as well, if they’re the complex, fiber filled kind that slowly releases that glucose into your blood so you’re not starved later. If you’re failing at this, your body’s gonna remain in nom mode til it meets its needs.
