Ever sink your teeth into a Reese’s, and think….

“Why can’t this be good for me?”

“Especially when it’s so easy to overeat them?”

Yes. I’ve been there. But you know where else I’ve been? Scouring my browser for ways to make that impossibility possible. Hunting for ways to satiate my craving without putting a pause (or reverse) on weight loss. And what’d I find? The answer. A next level, exceptional recipe of awesomeness in this wad of chocolate and peanut butter called, “No bake energy bites”.

And, you know what? They’re actually even better than our beloved cups.

Because, aside from the fact that they’re shaped into these poppable balls, they’ve also got other ingredients of deliciousness in ’em that the serrated disks we used to eat don’t. Aside from the obvious components we all know and love (p.b. and choc), there’s also coconut, oatmeal, flax and chia seeds, and even vanilla. By the time you’ve smashed all those badboys together, it’s like you’ve manifested the lovechild of Halloween and breakfast into bite sized wonder.

And the plus?

Well, with all those protein filled, high fiber ingredients, not only are you getting the energy to want to work off your caloric ingestion of the day, but you’re also satiated. Unlike the sugar crash a couple candy cups would cause you, the fiber and complex carbs from a few of these things would allow for a nice slow release of sugar so that you’ll last through your workout (or workday – which can legit feel like a workout). And even if you’re just heading to work after munching a couple of these, that slow sugar release with the chia and flax will help you feel fuller for longer – so you won’t be making bad choices in an hour or three when pre-lunch rolls around.

Oh, and the other plus? If you’re as lazy as I am when it comes to kitchen stuff, you needn’t be deterred from whipping these up. ’cause they’re no bake, buddy. All you do is mix the ingredients above together, pop ’em in the fridge for ten minutes, and then ball-ify them, by rolling bits of your mix like Play-Doh. Absolutely zero heat machinery needed. And, with no energy expended in the kitchen (plus all the fuel you’ll get from eating these choco-PB balls), you’ll be double diesel gassed up for your impending aerobic effort.

So, before you get a hankering for that bad candy…

Roll up and keep a swarm of these scrumptious orbs handy.

It’ll kill the craving and revive your motivation to get moving.
