There’s no doubt about it.

Spears has speared all her weight loss goals in the past few years.

And she looks uh-mazing.

So what’s she been up to? Well, naturally, there’s all the obvious stuff. Homegirl does her cardio. She jumps rope. Ab day for Brit’s got the added challenge of using a bosu – “both sides up” – ball. And, yes, she does strength training. (No one gets gams like that by skipping on squat day.) That’s all standard. But if you look elsewhere in her Instagram account, she’s also doing everything else right. All the other areas that contribute to holistic health are present for Britney. She has the connection of loved ones (both romantically as well as her kids), she spends time cultivating passions outside of her career (painting), and she also spends time doing workouts that aren’t just for weight loss but for fun too (like salsa). She even does yoga to stay centered and in a place of self love and respect for her flesh vessel. And then, instead of rewarding her self with bad food choices, she buys cute new numbers to show off.

So take a tip from the queen of pop if you want to pop back into your early 2000 gear like Spears can.

Sure, do the basics of maintaining a good diet, strength training regimen, and cardio program. That’s all important. But also make sure to stoke your spirit, cultivate your connections, and foster the hobbies you’re most passionate about. Those are all so underrated when it comes to weight loss and health in general. People love to claim it all rests on calories in and out, how you break up your macros, or your gym itinerary. That’s half of it. The other half, though, is stoking the motivation fires so you stay the course. And, in the end, sustainable weight loss doesn’t just happen simply by the numbers. Britney’s showing us all that, now that this showstopper’s stopped her toxic lifestyle, pulled out all the stops, and put in work from all angles. And we hear you, girl. Loud ‘n clear.
