Are you overdoing the avocado – and sabotaging your weight loss?

Ready for some education?

Good. Because here’s your new word of the day: Allvocado.”

Yes. That’s my new term for exactly how much avocado I’d like to eat in a week.

All’ve it. All’ve the avocados. Allvocado.

“While the two men bartered, Ashley slipped into the driver’s seat and took off into the sunset…”

And why not, right? It’s a fruit. It’s green. It’s got the good fat. I’m made in the shade with these jade orbs I gorge on, on the daily, no? Well… not exactly. In fact, from a weight loss angle, I may be missing the boat as I sail away on this delicious ship of green squishy goodness to excess. Why? Because, no matter how healthy, moderation’s always crucial. And so is balancing macros. Yes, even when it comes to ‘cados.

Now’s the part where you tell me my negativity’s not something you need in your life. I get it. After all, I went through the same stage of grief when I read this too. However, all’s not lost. All this means is that we can’t go gluttonous, gobbling down guac all the time. (Or even eating ’em straight out’ve the bowls nature made ’em in with a spoon – around that behemoth sized seed in the middle.) No, madams and sirs. Rather, all this means is we’ve gotta be a bit more abstemious with our viridescent prize if descending scale numbers are what we want. (And we all probably should be, anyway, seeing how their cost seems to exponentially ascend each time I pass the bucket they live in at Wegmans.)

So, just how much moderating are we talking?

(Yes, brace yourself. ’cause even Snape sorcery can’t cancel out fat facts.)

Well, if you’re an avo addict like yours truly, and you crave ’em daily, then the dieticians suggest you keep it to half, per day. Sure, the fat that’s in ’em – as mentioned – is good for you. And, yes, it helps fill you up. But, too much of that good thing’ll still stick excess thickness on you. See, if you’re following a 2,000 calorie diet, your max of fat each day should be about 30 grams. And one “serving” of fat’s just five grams (or 45 calories). Since chicks need six servings of fat per day, that translates to the fat in one avocado. The rational’s that, since you’ll wanna balance your macros (which means you’ll probably be getting additional fat from other forms’ve food through the day that also harbor your proteins and carbs), that’s all your ration should tally up to. That said, if you get your fix on these badboys but once or twice a week, then there’s zero worries to be had on these good fats. The only people this’ll come as grim news to, are people like myself, incapable of moderating their ‘cado intake.

So, in sum, “some” is exactly what you can have if you wanna lose weight.

Just cleave that green thing down the seam, tweak my term, and change your daily word for weight loss:
