Outdoor Workout SPF: SuperGoop Vs. SunBum Sunscreen (Part 2)

So, we just talked about how Supergoop’s great for outside weight loss workouts

This product offers a goddess-like glow, stays on through the sweat, and doesn’t leave a white sheen like your average sunscreen does. As mentioned in the last article, this stuff’s for the face. (I care less about my arms and legs getting flesh toned sunscreen, honestly. ) Thus, it’s perfect for trail running, ball playing, beach sports, or helping your (now ex) boyfriend do hard labor on his farm because you know he has a bad back and that’s just the kinda kind hearted gal ya are, spending your day off making his life easier and pain less, which you would think would make him treat me bette-… I digress. So sorry. But the point is this: while running my miles and miles to cut off the feeling-eating weight I put on during hibernation season, this stuff stayed in place on my face the whole time. Just as much protection from mile number first to mile number last. (Not counting the day I forgot a hat to catch the sweat and wiped everything off with my hand, lest it waterfall into my eyes and blind me.)

Okay, so how did the “dupe” version of this measure up?

Sunbum’s Glow seems like a dream come true.

It comes in a larger bottle, it’s cheaper, and it’s just missing one ingredient from Supergoop that I can’t remember. (I dunno. Don’t ask me. That’s not my area.) Remember or not, though, I think that one ingredient must matter because – although the shimmer and tone are similar – that’s about where it ends. Where Supergoop has a little more thickness to its consistency, Sunbum is a bit runny. Perhaps it’s the aforementioned ingredient that’s missing – or perhaps it’s that they watered it down with something else (so that they could sell it in a larger bottle and charge less). Mind you, I’ll do a lot for you guys. I buy these products with my own money. I put them on and in my body for you. (No, I know – I hear how that sounds. Let’s just move on…) And I take the time to compare. But, like Meatloaf, when it comes to risking my skin getting extra fine lines and wrinkles, I won’t… do… that… So, instead, I popped on the Sunbum and donned it for elliptical time – in the safety of my UV free domicile. The result was much what you’d expect: it came off pretty quickly.

But here’s the caveat: we all love a deal don’t we? And we all hate wasting money. So, instead of yeeting it into the trash bin, I instead decided to repurpose it for “going out” SPF. I realize this goes more into my “skincare” genre of reviews, but it’s an important aside for us all: we should all be wearing SPF any day the sun has chosen to rise – if we’re going outside. Seeing as Sunbum is a bit more the consistency of non sweat resistant SPF’s I’ve had, I decided to repurpose it for my “every day” SPF. Not only that, but it’s also stood the test of brunch time at the winery with my gal pals. Twice now, I’ve been able to sit and sip outside with them, and this stuff stays intact – once reinforced by my primer and foundation.

Final decision winner? Both!

Supergoop is best for an outside weight loss workout SPF you won’t sweat off.

And Sunbum will do nicely for an everyday face sunscreen.
