Why you should fitness re-treat yo’self for weight loss

Ever feel like you need a seatbelt extender on your flight back from holiday?

Then why not allot your holiday time for losing weight – instead’ve gaining it…

…with a weight loss vacay?

See, now that spring’s imminent, you might wanna stage a getaway before summer arrives. And that makes a fitness retreat the ideal opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. (Or more, if you weigh yourself in British units.) Not only do you get to jet to exotic, gorgeous locales and revel in the scenery (and not-being-at-work-ness). You also get to spend the whole time doing something productive enough that your pre-summer trip won’t need to be a guilt trip.

And just how productive can a Cancun holiday be?

Very, actually. And that’s because you’re making a fitness investment on several levels. First, if you’re stuck in a fat-habit funk, changing up the scenery is exactly what’s needed. It gives you an opportunity to wipe the slate clean of old routines and paint some new ones on. While on your retreat, trainers and dieticians can aid you in making better meal choices and help instill a regimen of exercising. And, the more days you spend trying out a new habit, the more likely it is to stick. Having the breathing space and better influences (than your own junk-addicted brain) to make that practice become habit will motivate you monumentally later on when you get home to carry on following your holiday habits.

Second, aside from your hot-body gurus, you’ve gotta whole community of like minded attendees going through this with you. People underestimate the value of that. However, when you’ve got exercise brethren to both inspire and be inspired by your perspiration efforts, it urges you to go a li’l further – when you might otherwise quit. Even better? Bonds born through hardship are often stronger than more trivially initiated ones. So, that means you and your new brothers in arms-doing-pushups will probably end up exchanging numbers and staying in close touch. This can become invaluable later on when you’re back home and need a digital accountability fitness pal.

And, finally, since it’s an actual holiday, the likeliness of cheating diminishes significantly. Firstly, because of guilt. (No one wants to spend a bunch’ve funds on something they’re gonna go and blow.) And, secondly, because there’s less of that “This workout warrants a reward” sort’ve feeling. The holiday itself is the reward. The sunset. The beach. The fact that your errands and bills are billions of miles away from you. That’s your post cardio trophy. Along with the trophy physique you’re gonna get.

(Did you know “Zumba Cruise” is a thing? Several days where dancing yourself schmexy’s your only task?
What else could you need?)

So next holiday, maybe treat yo’self to a retreat.

And let the only overweight thing on your return flight be your overflowing sense’ve self satisfaction.
