What kind of breakfast fruit’s best for weight loss?

It seems like an efficient pre-work breakfast plan.

You’ll grab your coffee, dash out the door, and munch a prepackaged muffin or bagel en route to the rat race.

(Beware the forbidden non-fruit fruits from the Garden of Eatin’ each morning.)

Aside from the fact that it’s easy, it’s also filled with sugary goodness. Your reward for waking from your blanket grave, and braving another day. Right? Well, sure, if you’re not worried about packing on the pounds. Because the path to weight gain’s paved with Otis Spunkmeyer and the like. Especially at the top’ve your day. Now, while I wouldn’t really recommend any of those simple carb, refined sugar infused foods for any meal, I especially wouldn’t suggest it for breakfast. Why? Because mama was always right. Your morning meal’s the most crucial one you chew on. It sets the somatic (and mental, for that matter) tone for the rest of your day – from how much energy you have to work out or function at work, to your mood, to (and this is the important bit) whether those cantankerous hankerings for bad snacks come atchya later.

And what should you be eating?

Well, fiber, some protein, and – most of all – fruit:

(Raise your fork pierced kiwi about mouth high if you’ll stain your white tank with rouge juice by the meal’s end)

Between the high water content, fiber, and fewer calories, it’ll fill you up for hours. It’s like a birth control pill against the conception of prospective cravings before lunch even comes. Now, that’s probably not news to you if you’re not new to this site. (Or any weight loss site, for that matter.) Fruit’s proven to be a better way to kick off your day than, say, syrup drizzled croissants are.

But exactly which produce produces the best results for weight loss?

Well, the lower calorie fruits range from stuff like cantaloupe, pineapple, tangerines, strawberries, and honeydew melon. Each boasts a nice, low 50 calories per serving. (Or banana, for a mere 50 more.) Meanwhile, the likes of peaches, grapefruit, or nectarines only pack about 60. (Nada to scoff at.) Now, that might not sound like enough to fill you up. But, keep in mind that you’re supplementing your strawberries & co. with your fave protein and whole grain foods, and it’ll be more than enough. Plus, between the aforementioned juice factor and the handful’ve grams of fiber in every serving, you can hold back that ravenousness and feel satisfied until your usual midday dining time arrives. And, seeing as you can’t out-exercise a deplorable diet, it’s a beautiful, delicious way to win at weight loss.

(Oats, soy milk, banana, and flax… *Seems* like a feast, but prevents gluttonous gobbling the rest’ve of the day.)

So, instead of reaching for forbidden fruits… reach for some f’real fruit in lieu!
