Finally – a weight loss friendly pumpkin spiced dessert

Sure, Halloween might be over.

But you know what’s not done yet?

Pumpkin flavored urrrything season.

(Okay, maybe not *everything*…)

And it’s tough as the fluff topping your PSL to give ’em up. From that jack o’ lantern latte to the pumpkin cream cheese muffins, everything’s flavored with our favorite, glorious orange orbs this fall. And it’s too cruel. Especially when we’re on a weight loss path. Perfectly timed, they taunt and haunt us like the ghouls and goblins for which the holiday that just passed’s so infamous. So what can we do? Just stoically avoid our favorite food ‘cause it’s so horrible for our fitness game? Quite the contrary, my friend. Rather, we can morph this horror story into a fairy tale – by turning that pumpkin into Cinderella’s glittering whip – and riding it all the way to weight loss-ville.

And how do we do that?

By spreading a little fairy godmother magic on that shiz – with our DIY culinary wand. See, the thing is, pumpkin – on its own – isn’t bad for you. It’s actually quite good. The problem is that most of what’s sold to you pumps thise pumpkinny goodies full’ve sugar, making you crave more – while making you store massive amounts of fat and experience wonky blood glucose levels. It’s no bueno for weight or energy levels. (Which tie into one another; after all, how you gonna do your weight loss workout without any energy?) However, when you whip up something like, say, a chia pumpkin pudding, you get an epic level of weight loss awesomery happening – at zero expense to your taste buds, either.

See, first off, the chia seeds help fill you up by expanding in your belly as you consume them. This is invaluable when it comes to later-in-the-day craving smiting, ‘cause it means you’re still full when you’d regularly be preying on the corner vending machine by noon, cougar style. Second, it’s full of stuff like calcium, omegas, and protein – which’ll help not only fuel your energy, elevate your mood, and contribute to post workout muscle repair; but it’ll also buddy up with said chia seeds to help you feel nice and satisfied for far longer after you eat it than some punk azz pumpkin loaf. While the former fills and energizes you, the latter zombie-fies your mind ‘n body within an hour, tops. And the bonus? Despite all of this good-for-you-ness, it’s just as delish when it hits your palate. Between the cinnamon, coconut, and vanilla, you’re still meeting your sweet tooth’s needs.

So, transform that boring ‘n basic pumpkin pie this fall.

Instead, prepare your own pumpkin chia pudding, so you can prepare for savory and seasonal weight loss.
